EMS Equipment
Henderson County EMS deploys a wide range of state of the art equipment in order to provide maximally effective prehospital care and ensure the safety of our paramedics and AEMTs. Some of that equipment includes:
- Adult and pediatric video laryngoscopes to assist with intubation
- Ventilators to provide precisely controlled respiratory support
- Intravenous pumps to deliver controlled infusions of critical medications
- Robust PPE options to ensure medic safety, such as ballistic protective equipment and infectious disease protection equipment including PAPRs
- Cardiac monitors with an array of assessment tools including 12-lead ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, carbon monoxide measurement, automated blood pressure, and temperature measurement
- Mechanical stretcher lifting and loading systems to assist in patient movement and prevent injuries to EMS staff
- A bariatric ambulance operated in conjunction with the Henderson County Rescue Squad
- Mechanical CPR devices
- Mobile dispatch terminal (MDT) computers in all EMS vehicles
- Ambulances that are replaced every 3-4 years
