Department Responsibilities

Henderson County Permits & Inspections Department provides permit, plan review and inspection services for all unincorporated areas of Henderson County and, through contractual agreements, provides these services to the city and towns of Hendersonville, Laurel Park, Mills River, Fletcher, Flat Rock and Saluda. Our duties and responsibilities include receiving permit applications for residential and commercial construction, perform plan reviews, making necessary inspections, and issuing certificate of occupancies.

 

Department Mission Statement

Our goal is to ensure the safeguard of public health, safety, and general welfare through enforcement of the State Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Code.

 

Permit Office Hours:  Monday - Friday  8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m

Inspector Office Hours: Monday - Friday  8:00am - 8:30am

The report below is posted as per the requirements of the North Carolina General Statute (G.S. 160-1102(c))

"(c) No later than October 1 of 2023, 2024, and 2025, every local government shall publish an annual financial report on how it used fees from prior fiscal year for the support, administration, and implementation of its building code enforcement program as required by G.S. 160D-402(d). This report is in addition to any other financial report required by law."
