Emergency Medical Services
Henderson County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS) provides prehospital emergency medical care in Henderson County, North Carolina. Operating from six stations throughout our county, paramedics and advanced emergency medical technicians are available at all times to respond to assist with emergency medical needs. To request EMS for a medical emergency, dial 911. The Henderson County Rescue Squad provides non-emergency ambulance transports.
In 2022, Henderson County EMS responded to 15,620 calls for service for a wide range of medical emergencies including heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and traumatic injuries. Patients are primarily transported to Pardee Hospital and AdventHealth Hendersonville. Some patients may also be transported to Mission Hospital, such as in the case of serious trauma. EMS collaborates with local hospitals on a variety of patient care initiatives including treatment of stroke, STEMI, and trauma patients.
