Child Care Subsidy Program
The Child Care Subsidy Program office Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. For more information, please call (828) 697-5500.
The Child Day Care Program's goal is to ensure safe, quality, accessible and affordable child care for children in Henderson County. This program supports the independence of families by enabling responsible adults to secure and maintain employment and meet the basic needs of their children.
Please note: Service availability may be limited and names placed on a waiting list.
You may be eligible to receive child care assistance if one or more of the following situations apply to your family:
- You are working or are attempting to find work with the Work First Program
- You are in school or in a job training program
- Your child is receiving child protective services
- Your child needs care to support child welfare services or if your family is experiencing a crisis
- Your child has developmental needs
Most families, including those receiving Work First Family Assistance , are required to pay a percentage of their child care costs based upon their gross monthly income. The percentage is 10%, if applicable.
