Henderson County Behavioral Health & Recovery Resources - Helene Response

We are compiling information about resources to support persons struggling with emotional well-being during this difficult time. Note: this is not an exhaustive list of resources. We will post updates as they become available.

Crisis Services
- National Crisis Line: 9-8-8 : If you or someone you know is struggling or in a crisis, help is available. You can call or text 9-8-8, or chat at www.988Lifeline.org to reach a trained counselor who can provide support in a mental health, substance use or suicide crisis.
- Disaster Distress Helpline: 1-800-985-5990 and Disability Disaster Hotline: 1-800-626-4959
- RHA’s Mobile Crisis Management line: 888-573-1006
- Vaya’s Behavioral Health Crisis Line 1-800-849-6127 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- The Walk-in Clinic for Henderson County- through Clarvida (previously known as Family Preservation Services)- was temporarily housed at The Free Clinics. Effective Monday, Oct 21 they have returned to their offices at 122 Chadwick Sq Ct, Hendersonville, open Monday - Friday between 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Blue Ridge Health: all locations are open and operating on a normal schedule, except the 7th Avenue clinic in Hendersonville. Those people are being routed to Henderson Family Health Center on the Pardee Campus - Henderson County Locations
- Behavioral Health Urgent Care, Asheville (aka RHA C3360) 356 Biltmore Ave, Asheville, NC 28801. Adjusted hours: Monday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, providing triage, assessment, and referral services. Please feel free to call the direct line at (828) 210-2651.
- Safelight: all programs and services are open. 5th Ave W, Hendersonville, NC, 24 hour hotline: 828-693-3840
- The Hope4NC Helpline (1-855-587-3463) provides mental health support for first responders and volunteers working on our Hurricane Helene disaster response. The helpline is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
- Neil Dobbins Center (NDC) in Asheville has re-opened as of 10/21/24: Walk-In: Neil Dobbins Center assessments and referrals are provided 24/7 at the Behavioral Health Crisis Center, located at 356 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC 28801. No appointment needed! Through Mobile Crisis Management, 24/7: For on-site or after-hours support, referrals are available 24/7 through Mobile Crisis Management (MCM) by calling 1.888.573.1006. Have any questions? Licensed Clinicians are available for phone consultations and triage at 828.210.2651 (8 am – 8 pm).

- Pardee UNC Health/ PATH’s adult detox and psychiatry call 828-696-4250. Located at 800 N Justice St, Hendersonville, NC 28792. PATHS Unit call 828-696-4250
- Advent Health dual diagnosis unit for women 18+ and female adolescent unit, call 828-681-2282. Located at 100 Hospital Dr, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
- Advent Health also offers an outpatient option if you need to schedule an urgent appointment call 828-650-8130 for more information.
- ADATC: Re-opening and accepting referrals for detox and rehab on 12/3/24
New during response:
- RHA Health Services Licensed Counselors available at Hands On! Children's Museum 318 North Main Street, Downtown Hendersonville. Available for FREE seven days a week between 9am and 7pm now through October 31.
