Duties and Responsibilities:  The social worker has a primary responsibility with Henderson County Department of Social Services to meet the requirements of Adult Protective Services policies and laws for the care and protection of disabled adults in whatever setting the client is located.  These services are mandated in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 108A.  The social worker is responsible for independently completing assessment/evaluation for cases assigned to him/her as a result of referrals received by the agency.  Social worker uses assessment information to plan proper intervention for clients.  The social worker will participate in the rotation of on-call duties with other social workers in the Adult Services units.

 

Qualifications:  Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; or Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience; or a Master’s degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; or a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
