Why do I have to tape the terminals of batteries?

When mixed together with other batteries or recyclables, these items can easily start a fire. Play it safe and use scotch, duct, or electrical tape over the terminals of household batteries.

Aren't pizza boxes made of cardboard and therefore a recyclable item?

While they are indeed made of layered cardboard, grease and food particles cause contamination of the cardboard that renders it of very low value. We ask that you do not recycle greasy pizza boxes, please.
