Temporary Full Time and Part Time EMT/AEMT Positions Available!

(This position is classified as Project to assist with hurricane relief efforts. The length of this assignment will be 3 -6 months.)

Henderson County Emergency Services is currently accepting applications for temporary emergency medical technicians and advanced emergency medical technicians to assist with EMS operations for recovery efforts primarily in the Bat Cave and Gerton communities due to the effects of Hurricane Helene. EMTs and AEMTs in this role will staff an ambulance and/or quick response vehicle in conjunction with personnel primarily from Henderson County EMS and the Henderson County Rescue Squad. Personnel will function as a part of the Henderson County EMS system which provides exceptional prehospital medical care with progressive, evidence-based treatment protocols and top-of-the line equipment. Both full-time and Auxiliary work schedules are available.

Duties and Responsibilities: This position responds to calls for service, safely operates emergency vehicles, provides emergency medical care at the level of their scope of practice, utilizes communication equipment, exercises considerable tact in dealing with other agencies, patients, and the general public, and completes appropriate documentation. This position is also responsible for maintaining the response readiness of their vehicle, maintaining the cleanliness of their station, and successfully completing required training to practice safely and effectively within the Henderson County EMS system.

Qualifications:

• Possess a current North Carolina EMT, AEMT, or paramedic certification
• Previous emergency services experience is preferred
• Individuals who are actively practicing in the Henderson County EMS system preferred
