Logistics Officer
Henderson County seeks to fill a full time Logistics Officer position to provide for all logistical needs for the Emergency Services Division (EMS, Emergency Management, and Fire Marshal’s Office).
Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for logistical needs: Inventory management of medical equipment, medications, and medical supplies including contract agreements, purchasing, and stocking of items. Coordinates preventive maintenance of medical and non-medical equipment. Assists in coordination of fleet maintenance for vehicles. Maintains inventory and service records for all equipment and vehicles. Ensures facilities including EMS stations are maintained. Serves as in the Logistics Section on the Henderson County Incident Management Team. Maintains list of Emergency Management deployable assets and ensures operational readiness of Emergency Management disaster equipment and the Emergency Operations Center. Serves as the agency’s point of contact for Information Technology needs and helps coordinate the department’s computer hardware and software needs.. Assists with budget preparation.
Qualifications: Requires a working knowledge of business administration practices and government purchasing and acquisition regulations; thorough knowledge of computers and other IT components; thorough knowledge of equipment and supplies utilized by emergency medical services and emergency management; functions independently and is able to lead projects for the department.
Requirements: Graduation from high school supplemented by course work in Information Technology, Fire Protection, EMS or Emergency Management and considerable experience in the Emergency Services field or related work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities. Current North Carolina EMS credential (i.e., EMT, EMT Advanced, or Paramedic) preferred. Must possess valid North Carolina driver’s license. Must have completed Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, 800. Must be able to obtain ICS 300 & 400 within six (6) months of employment. Must be able to obtain NIMS Supply Unit Leader designation within thirty-six (36) months of employment.
