Duties and Responsibilities:  This position develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies and tactics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Works closely with contracted agencies on strategy development and execution; tracks, manages and/or leads all PR, marketing, and internal communication initiatives, programs, and projects, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and timely efforts, with accuracy and reporting across platforms; oversees contracted partners such as PR firms, advertising agencies, and content creators. Manages and maintain budgets for marketing projects and programs under the guidance of the Executive and Deputy Directors. Ensures contracted staff efforts are in alignment with goals and with those of the HCTDA staff, and are part of a larger, regular program of marketing; mentors and leads the Digital Content and Design Coordinator and Social and Specialty Campaign Coordinator, ensuring collaboration, cross-training, and alignment of efforts for the HCTDA and with its contracted professionals. Oversees staff in managing their projects effectively, ensuring individual efforts are part of a larger, regular program of marketing; fosters authentic relationships with hospitality partners, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring their voices are integrated as appropriate into marketing initiatives. Represents the HCTDA at public meetings or industry events as needed; uses tools such as Zartico, STR, and AirDNA to analyze data and track performance metrics; recommends, performs, or oversees destination research conducted internally or through contractors; writes, edits and/or reviews a wide range of copy as produced by staff and contracted professionals; collaborates with the Deputy Director to administer and operate the creative partner co-op advertising program, Welcome Center-based marketing efforts, and other projects/programs as they arise; under guidance of the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, manages marketing budgets and projects as directed; oversees the ongoing partner eNewsletter, including content, design decisions, and delivery; regularly creates and delivers concise, actionable briefs to the Executive Director and other leadership; serves as the primary point of contact for journalists and influencers, doing video or written interviews, and managing hospitality and trip logistics in accordance with organizational processes; understands and leverages new platforms and technologies such as ChatGPT to enhance efficiency and creativity; tracks and evaluates the ROI of marketing initiatives, ensuring campaigns align with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing, and 4 years of managing marketing staff and/or contracted professionals, preferably both, and preferably within a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or tourism sector; OR 10 years of experience in marketing and 5 years of managing marketing staff and/or contracted professionals, preferably both, and preferably within a DMO or tourism sector; ability to function effectively as a team member to meet the goals and objectives of the HCTDA; professional, thoughtful demeanor at all times, and with both HCTDA staff and the public, is essential; proven marketing team leadership and marketing plan implementation experience; project management experience, including mentoring others to managing their projects (as well as your own); budget management experience, with the ability to adjust as market forces make necessary; proficiency in utilizing data and marketing tools such as Zartico, STR, AirDNA, Bandwango, and e-newsletter systems. Familiarity with ChatGPT is a plus; stellar organizational, analytical, leadership, and inter-personal skills; superior writing and communication skills, time-sensitivity, and attention to detail required; high degree of problem-solving, task-completion, and accountability; strong organizational capabilities to track multiple projects and keep them on target; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with industry partners, colleagues, and visitors; ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines; comfort working in a PC-Windows-based environment; adobe creative suite and any WordPress skills a plus; strong user of PowerPoint desired; comfortable with eNewsletter providers such as Constant Contact.

Salary Range:  $53,762.67 - $108,809.50

Pay Grade: 77A
          Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity.
