Library Technician II - Outreach

Duties and Responsibilities:  This position performs delivery services to patrons in homes and facilities; pulls material based on patron preferences; organizes items for delivery; drives and delivers materials to patrons; processes patron applications for service and register patrons. This position also Performs responsible clerical work requiring the application of basic library work practices for the County Public Library system; performs related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Reports to Librarian IV (Assistant Director and Marketing).

Qualifications:  Some knowledge of library techniques, systems, working tools, and procedures; ability to use library tools, technology and facilities; ability to complete projects with attention to detail; ability to learn and use new software and technology; ability to maintain records and reports; ability to communicate effectively orally; ability to frequently load and unload tubs of books and other library materials; ability to drive established routes and follow established laws and safe driving procedures and practices; ability to attend work regularly; excellent interpersonal skills.

Must possess a valid North Carolina drivers license.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.

Pre-employment drug test and background checks required of finalist applicants.

Salary Range:          $17.92 - $31.51

Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity.
