Sewer Rates

Utilities Director Jim Erwin requested the Board consider amending the rate structure for the Cane Creek  District.  These changes are to bring in line the rate structure of the customers of the former Mud Creek District and to pass along the rate increase from MSD.  Should the Board approve the changes; customers in the District can expect an increase by approximately $1.00 per month.

Commissioner Gordon stated that the Cane Creek Advisory Committee met yesterday and reviewed this and was in agreement with staff=s recommendation.

Commissioner Gordon made the motion to approve the rate chart as presented in Exhibit A. All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Tap Fees

The Board was also requested to consider adjusting the tap fees to allow for the County to contract for all taps on the system.  Currently, taps are performed by varying contractors.

The Cane Creek Advisory Committee considered these rates at their meeting on July 23, 2002 and was in agreement with this request, with the understanding that these figures are expected to cover the costs of those taps and that we use Contractors who are qualified.

Commissioner Gordon made the motion to approve the Tap Fee Schedule and authorize staff to collect the money for the taps when customers apply for service and handle the installation of the tap for taps to county sewer lines. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
