MINUTES

 

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA                                          BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

COUNTY OF HENDERSON                                                                NOVEMBER 13, 2001

 

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners met for a special called meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners= Conference Room of the Henderson County Office Building at 100 North King Street, Hendersonville, North Carolina.

 

Those present were:  Chairman Bill Moyer, Vice-Chair Marilyn Gordon, Commissioner Grady Hawkins, and Commissioner Charlie Messer.

 

Absent was: Commissioner Don Ward, County Manager David E. Nicholson, County Attorney Angela S. Beeker, and Clerk to the Board Elizabeth W. Corn. Chairman Moyer gave the Clerk notes to use to prepare the minutes. 

 

Attached as a part of these minutes is the list of 20 students who attended from the four high schools, members of the Leadership Development of Henderson County - Class of 2001/2002.

 

CALL TO ORDER/WELCOME

Chairman Moyer called the meeting to order and welcomed those in attendance. He explained that the purpose of this meeting was to meet with local High School students and answer questions from them and explain about local government.

 

Commissioners Moyer, Gordon, Hawkins, and Messer discussed the structure and operation of County Government, the County=s revenues and expenses and the services provided by the County. The Commissioners responded to questions from the students.

 

ADJOURN

At approximately 9:40 a.m., Chairman Moyer thanked the students for coming and for their thoughtful questions.  He moved to adjourn the meeting and the motion passed unanimously.
