INVOCATION

Dr. Howard B. Norton, a member of the Fire Commission, gave the invocation.

Chairman Hawkins introduced the other Commissioners and thanked the members of the Association for the volunteer work they do for the County.  He stated that the purpose of the Advisory Committee was to enhance their operations and that the members of the new Committee should have a desire to help the departments.

The Chairman then reviewed changes that the Board had made from the latest draft submitted by the Association.  The Chairman asked that the Association review the new by-laws and let the Board know the Association=s comments.

7:25 p.m.  Commissioner Moyer arrived.

Members of the Association questioned the Board on issues such as the make-up of the Advisory Board, the role of the Fire Commission and that a member of the new Advisory Board could not have any financial conflict of interest.  Association members also discussed the importance of the Property Addressing Project.  The Chairman informed them that Assessor Robert Baird was to report to the Board in December with a plan for implementation of this project.
