BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

COUNTY OF HENDERSON

MARCH 15, 1999

 

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners met for a special called meeting at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Conference Room of the Henderson County Office Building.

Those present were: Chairman Grady Hawkins, Vice-Chair Bill Moyer, Commissioner Renee Kumor, Commissioner Don Ward, Commissioner Marilyn Gordon, County Manager David E. Nicholson, Assistant County Manager Angela S. Beeker, and Clerk to the Board Elizabeth W. Corn.

Also present were: Staff Attorney Jennifer O. Jackson, County Engineer Gary Tweed, County Planning Dirctor Matt Matteson, and Public Information Officer Chris S. Coulson.

CALL TO ORDER/WELCOME

Chairman Hawkins called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. He stated that the purpose of this meeting was a work session on the subdivision regulations.

TIP PRIORITIES

Chairman Hawkins reviewed a letter with the Board that he had received from Mayor Niehoff, City of Hendersonville, regarding the TIP priorities.

It was the consensus of the Board that the number of lanes for Hwy. #191 be contingent on the thoroughfare study. Chairman Hawkins will relate this consensus to Mayor Niehoff.

REVIEW OF DRAFT SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS

Matt Matteson began review with page 22, Section 410.

Review continued with much discussion and suggested changes in wording. Jennifer Jackson helped with the review and made some staff suggestions.

Chairman Hawkins called a 10 minute recess at 4:45 p.m.

Staff had prepared a chart as an outline of the Board comments that were noted by Staff and other comments that Staff wanted the Board to consider. The chart was reviewed in detail (orange sheet, front and back).

There was much discussion regarding AFamily Subdivisions@.

Following much discussion, direction was given to staff to bring back a clean copy at the next meeting. The Board scheduled a Public Hearing for April 5, 1999.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
